7 Christmas Tree Ideas

I love the traditional green Christmas tree full of beautiful ornaments that my family has collected throughout the years but sometimes I want my tree to be a little bit different. Then there are those years when I want my tree to be A LOT different! SO I started looking around and found some creative ways to decorate a Christmas tree. I hope these 7 Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas will help your tree stand out and help your family celebrate a very Merry Christmas this year.

Christmas Tree Pink & White

I have always loved a white Christmas tree because no matter what color your ornaments are they look great against the white background. So no matter what your favorite color is, pick up a white tree and add a pop of color!

 Whimsical Christmas Tree

Christmas time will always make me think of toys and since the kids love toys and decorating the Christmas tree why not combine the two and have a whimsical tree? The more colorful the toys, the better!

All Pink Christmas Tree

If you love the color pink at one point or another the thought has crossed your mind to get a pink tree. I love the idea of having a pink tree decorated with pink garland and ornaments too. Don’t forget the pink tree skirt!

Christmas Tree Balloons

A Christmas tree full of swirls of different colors would look great in anyone’s home, no matter the decor. Filling up different color balloons and hanging them in a swirl pattern is a very inexpensive way to replicate this look for your tree.

Rainbow Tree

A rainbow tree would definitely be a crowd please-er. You can include everyone in the families favorite colors and with a white tree for a background it will definitely make that rainbow of colors shine!

Christmas Tree Stocking

I never have anywhere to hang my holiday stockings since I don’t own a fireplace so putting them on the tree is a great way to display your stockings and you can include everyone in the family, even the extended family with all of that space for hanging.

Christmas Tree Gold Bows

Bows are plentiful this time of year so why not add them to your tree for a little extra color? I like the gold on green look especially when the background of your tree is light like this one with the curtains in the background.

No matter how you decorate your tree this year, have fun doing it and Merry Christmas!

  1. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She
put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

    • Too Funny! Thanks for the comment no matter how off subject, it made me laugh! Also, you went to the beach today? We were thankful for our 40 degree weather here, now I don’t feel so lucky:) I love your ribbon decorating ideas, they are fantastic!

  2. I’ve never thought to put stockings ON the tree! I wonder how well the tree would hold up once you started stuffing the stockings, though.

  3. Clay Cassin says:

When I was little my grandmother had a fake silver tree that was lit by a revolving red-blue-green filter on a spot light. I thought it was ugly… now that I am old, I want one.

    • That was how I felt about a white Christmas tree that an aunt of mine had. Their family was really well off and everything was perfect for the holidays so when I seen this sparkly white tree in their home I hated it although I secretly wanted one someday. The very first artificial Christmas tree I bought was a white one and I actually have that one up this year and love it still. It reminds me of where I came from and makes me proud that I have what I once desired and thought was so unattainable no matter how silly it is to others, it is my happy tree. 🙂
