DIY Photo Canvas Keepsake

I have tons of photos that just sit in a box and never get looked at. Whenever I go through the photos I get frustrated with myself for not displaying them properly so I decided to do something about it.

This DIY Photo Canvas Keepsake is so easy to make that I am thinking about doing this with a bunch of photos and creating a gallery wall in my living room.

All you need to create a DIY Photo Canvas is:

DIY Photo Canvas Keepsake

Select a photo and scan it with your printer/scanner. Tape just the edges of a piece of tissue paper to the edges of a piece of printer paper. This will make the tissue paper run through the printer smoothly without being ripped to shreds.

Print the photo onto the tissue paper and then remove the printer paper backing.

Immediately press the tissue paper onto the canvas.

Apply ModPodge and be sure to smooth out any lines or bumps but be sure not to rip the tissue paper. This part takes a lot of patience and you may have a few errors but when you are all done, you will hardly notice them.

Don’t worry if your Mod Podge looks like it is washing the image away, it should dry clear.

When selecting a canvas and photo, I left some space so I could add the lyrics to one of our Wedding Songs. I just typed it up in Microsoft Word Processor and printed it out. I applied Mod Podge and added ribbons and embellishments to finish off the look.

After adding all of the ribbon and embellishments to the front of the canvas I needed a way to hang my DIY Photo Canvas, so I decided to use more ribbon.

I stapled the ribbon in the places I wanted it to be and tied a bow to hang the canvas. It really is this simple and I hope you enjoyed this DIY Photo Canvas project!
