DIY Candy Wrappers & Pinata

I love Halloween and deciced to make sure I was not only prepared this year with enough candy to give out but I also wanted to enjoy this holiday with some crafting fun!

My daughter is getting older now and instead of spending the whole night trick or treating she enjoys handing out candy to the trick or treaters. We like to make it as fun for everyone as possible and most importantly we don’t want to run out of candy!

To make sure we have plently of candy we ran to Walmart and purchased a big bag of all of our favorite treats, the Goodies Galore Variety Bag as well as the Hershey Green Monster Variety Bag. It includes all of our favorites like Reese’s, Kit Kat’s, Almond Joy, and much more!

These two big bags give us 360 pieces of chocolate to decorate and hand out! I think everyone will enjoy both of these fun Halloween crafts.

DIY Pinata

All you will need to make the candy wrappers and pinata is a little imagination and a few supplies.

Depending on what kinds of scary creations you want to make, you may need a variety of colors. We created a bat pinata and a variety of different candy wrappers.

Some of my favorites were the witch, tombstone, a floating ghost, and the spider my daughter made. This is such a fun way to get into the spirit and spend some fun time crafting.

After you are done decorating the candy, you can strectch out a balloon and push the candy through the hole, fill it with air, tie it off, and then hang it with a string of ribbon.

Add colorful decorations or a face onto your DIY pinata and you are ready to have some fun with this Halloween themed craft.

How will you decorate your pinata and what will you put inside? I loaded mine with Hershey’s candy from Walmart, what will you put in yours?

  1. That is such a cute craft. My kids love pinatas. Since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I might make one of these and invite some friends over for a party!

  2. I can’t believe that its almost Halloween this year. This is such an adorable craft to do with the kids. I loved pinatas when I was younger and never would have thought to wrap the candy in cute patterns like this.

  3. I never thought about making an at-home pinata! I am going back to Canada for Halloween, and will be spending it with my two little nephews… I can’t wait to see them trick-or-treating for the first time, ever ever. Maybe I should make something like this and surprise them with it a few days before. I think it’d be so fun!!

  4. This so cute! I’m not the craftiest mom, but I think I can manage to try this one out! My son would love it. i can’t believe that it’s almost Halloween already! Where has the year gone?

  5. What a fun idea! Making a piñata can be so difficult, but I love how simple this one is – perfect for any party or even a classroom! #client

  6. I love the bat pinata for Halloween. It’s such a cute idea, but I don’t think I would want to slash it to get to the candy! Walmart is a great store to stock up on Halloween candy since their prices are so low.

  7. I love this simple DIY Pinata for Halloween! Who knew this would be so easy! I love simple and this is it! Thanks for sharing your super cute bat pinata! I am off to pick up candy and supplies so I can make it for myself 🙂

  8. Love all of your Halloween crafts. I am so not a crafty person and I probably would have just eaten all the candy 😉

  9. CUTISIMO!! That’s what Babushka thinks of the little balloon bat and the idea of a Halloween Piñata!! BB used to enjoy Halloween so much with The Trio, but never thought of that. Think we’re gonna try it with The Grands. Gracias & BB2U

  10. I think I might surprise my nephew by making him one of these. He’d be so surprised that candy came out of it, and wouldn’t even suspect that it was a piñata. How much candy can you safely stick inside of the balloon?

  11. I never thought to use a balloon for the pinata. How fun and festive. I love that you included eyeballs with the candy. Perfect for Halloween.
