DIY Soy Candles Kit

I received a DIY Soy Candle Kit for the purposes of this review, all opinions are my own.

I have always loved candles and it amazes me that it has taken me this long to explore the art of making them at home. I never knew what to buy or how to go about making my own candles but thanks to Labor of Love Co. I was able to make my own soy candles with their DIY Soy Candle Kit.

DIY Soy Candles

When the package arrived I wasn’t quite ready for a DIY project but I wanted to open it up and see what was inside.

Candle Kit

I didn’t open any of the sealed containers inside, I just took a peek but the smell began to seep out of the box and my home was already smelling amazing before even making the soy candles.

I chose the Apple Harvest scent and I am glad I did because the scent is so amazing, it puts a smile on my face whenever I light it.

When I had a little more time and was feeling like tackling a DIY project, I gathered my supplies and got to work. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make these candles and wish I had started sooner because I was excited to put them on display as well as wrap one up to give as a gift.

The first step was to add a cup of water to a pot, bring it to a boil and then add the soy wax flakes to a bowl that was placed above the pot.

After a couple of minutes the wax flakes were melted, I added the fragrance and then added the mixture to the jars. I grabbed a wick, placed it in the bottom of the jars and poured the melted wax in.

This is the hardest part, you have to wait about 24 hours for the candles to completely set then you trim the wicks down to about an inch.

Homemade Candles

I then wrapped the labels around each jar and placed the lids on top. I really like the final look of these DIY soy candles and think they will make a fantastic gift idea. Homemade gifts are always great and they are even better in my opinion when they are as useful as these soy candles.

Soy Candle DIY

My mom has always loved candles and bought me some of my favorite candles over the years so I decided to give her one as a gift and keep one for myself.
