Easy Fish Recipe for the SCD Diet

We eat a lot of fish at my house so this Easy Fish Recipe for the SCD Diet has been used many times and I am excited to share it!

One of my husband’s favorite activities is fishing and it has been ever since he was a little boy. I love hearing his stories about being up all night fishing, making his own fire, and completely alone at just 8 years old.

The stories always amaze me because he was alone at such a young age, surviving in the wilderness and also because it shows that his love of fishing is a apart of who he is and always has been.Easy Fish Recipe for the Scd Diet

Every Spring when the water starts to thaw out, he heads out to fish for crappie, walleye, and whatever else is biting that time of year. As the weather warms up and the Summer rolls in he is usually night fishing for catfish and bullhead.

He is an excellent fisherman and our family reaps the benefits because we get to eat a lot of fish around here. It’s healthy and delicious, plus it saves us a bunch of money at the grocery store where we would usually be buying a bunch of meat for the week.

When I first tried some of these different kinds of fish, I wasn’t impressed with the store bought breading and decided to make my own. I wanted an easy recipe that was also healthy, so I created this Easy Fish Recipe for the SCD Diet.

Easy Fish Recipe for SCD Diet

This recipe is great for every kind of fish my husband brings home. No matter what kind of fish we are having for dinner, I make this Easy Fish Recipe for the SCD Diet.

What you’ll need:

1/4 lb. Fish (cut into fillets or nuggets)

1/3 cup coconut flour

2 tablespoons of Garlic Powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon basil

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon olive oil for coating skillet

Mix all ingredients (except olive oil) in a medium bowl. Rinse the fish with water and shake off excess. Dredge the fillets into the seasoning mix and cover each piece completely.

Heat skillet with olive oil on medium to high heat.

Add fillets to skillet and cook each side for 2-3 minutes or until they begin to brown and crisp. Flip and cook other sides of the fillet for about 2-3 minutes. Fish will be done when the entire piece is crispy brown and the inside is bright white.
