Easy Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Recipe

Lemonade is commonly known as a Summer time drink but in my house we enjoy it all year long. It’s a great way to get your family to drink plenty of water and lemons are great source of vitamin c.

This recipe for lemonade is  so simple that anyone can make it and if you have been drinking that artificial lemonade, after trying this recipe you will never go back to that stuff again!

The best thing about this lemonade recipe is that you don’t have to know your way around a kitchen to recreate it because it is really simple to make.

I use my juicer to extract the juice out of the lemons but if you don’t have one you can always squeeze the lemons the old fashioned way. It may not get every last drop out but it will do the trick and you will be enjoying this deliciously simple lemonade in no time.

Lemonade

What you will need to make this recipe:

3 Large lemons or about 5 ounces of juice from small ones

3/4 cup of sugar

2 qts water

a pot for boiling

spoon for stirring

Ice cubes to cool down the mix before placing in pitcher

Add sugar and about 1 cup of water into a pot and boil. Stirring to make sure sugar doesn’t crystallize.  You will notice the sugar dissipating as it boils. When you can no longer see the sugar, take off of stove.

I like to add ice cubes to the boiled water sugar mix to cool it down before adding it to the pitcher. Add the rest of the water and mixture to the pitcher.

Squeeze lemons until you have about 5 ounces of juice. Add to the pitcher.

Stir everything together and serve over ice.

Lemonade

I can drink lemonade made from freshly squeezed lemons all year long and ever since I have made this lemonade recipe I will never go back to the artificial flavored stuff again.

I have been thinking about experimenting with this recipe and using it as a base. I think it will be fun to add in all kinds of different flavors like mint, strawberry, and peach.

What are your favorite flavors to add into lemonade? Tell me what has worked for you and what hasn’t?

My mom taught me that trick of melting the sugar too. It's called a simple syrup - useful for many things.

I love lemonade! I make it often in the summer. My go - to recipe is a little different then yours, so I'll have to give this a try. Lemonade is always a hit with my family. Our girls like to freeze it into pop cycles too. Makes for a great cold and healthy treat.

I have never made my own lemonade. That sounds kind of sad, I feel like it's something everyone should probably do at least once! I do love the taste of lemonade, it's so refreshing, especially on a hot day! Your recipe sounds super easy, I'll definitely give it a try.
