This post contains products that were sent to me in exchange for my honest opinion and to share with you, all opinions are my own.
It can be difficult to get back into the swing of things when school starts back up. I’m not just talking about the kids either! This Back to School Survival Kit is full of products that can help the whole family make the transition seamlessly.
Well, as seamlessly as heading back to school can be for us, we aren’t like most families. We spend a lot of time together and it still seems like she grew up too fast, I can not believe she is already in eighth grade, where did the time go?
On my daughters first day of Pre-school, my husband and I were so nervous and full of guilt about leaving our precious baby in the care of complete strangers for the first time that we spent the hour or so she was learning to buy her gifts. I cried and felt like a terrible mom for leaving her in someone else’s care. We were/are not the type of parents to let our daughter go to a friends house, we were the house all of the other kids came to. We rarely needed a sitter and when we did, it was usually grandma who would come to our home where everything is safe and parent approved by us.
Clearly, we have a hard time letting go and that is very obvious this time of year, every year. The anxiety kicks in and I worry about my daughter non stop until I pick her up each day. It doesn’t help that she is at the age now where she is reluctant about returning to school as well. While I try to send a positive message, I know that my anxiety plays a role in her reluctance to head to school so I am trying my best to let go as she gets older. This year I have decided to be proactive and prepare with this Back to School Survival Kit for the whole family.
Sending her to school on that first day was hard and thankfully it has gotten easier as she gotten older but the anxiety still takes a toll on me these first few weeks of school.
I have found some things to help me relax each morning so I don’t give off those anxious vibes and start the day wrong for the both of us.
Airome Flourish Essential Oil Diffuser is a great way to create a relaxing environment and diffusing essential oils can have many health benefits as well. While I have never been one to believe all of the hype on these oils, after diffusing the Breath Clear oils in this diffuser, I definitely feel more relaxed. I got it from Cracker Barrel, I had no idea they had so many things for the home.
You can also pick up this Metal 2-Sided Chalkboard on Stand which makes leaving notes easy as well as adds a farmhouse appeal to any area in your home.
I am a note taker and list maker so I always have a nice journal around to unload my thoughts and allow me to let it out. This a great way to relieve stress and to stop worrying about things that are out of your control. Write down whatever is bothering you in your favorite journal and then give yourself permission to let it go.
After I jot down the things that bother me, I can snuggle up with the PediPocket, a super comfy fleece blanket with a clever pocket to keep your feet inside.
We are in love with the PediPocket, it is so relaxing and cozy, it can be hard not to get so relaxed that you take a much-needed nap when enjoying the comfy blanket. It’s now available in XXL and in fun kids’ designs!
Another thing that has helped me to calm down is eating. I know that you aren’t supposed to eat your feelings but after tasting Dave’s Sweet Tooth Toffee, you will give any excuse to let yourself indulge.
This stuff is the real deal and probably the best thing I have ever tasted in my life, no kidding. You have not lived until you have allowed yourself to eat an entire bag of this toffee which comes in lots of delicious flavors. I urge you to head over to this site, get a bag now and come back to tell me your thoughts, I would bet you love it as much as I do.
If you are not a toffee person but enjoy an indulgence of the chocolate variety, you may like a salted peanuts and dark chocolate bar from Endangered Species Chocolate, check them out here to enter to win a trip to Africa!
It is still a good idea to start your day with a healthy option even if you plan on indulging in the afternoon. Garden Lites makes it easy, just grab a muffin and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds before enjoying muffins made with fresh veggies.
Another great way to start the day is with Polaner Fruit and Maple Premium Fruit Spread, a great way to enjoy all natural fruit.
When planning out school snacks for the week, it seems to be getting harder to find something we can agree on. I like sending something that she will actually eat but it also has to offer something more.
Go Organically Fruit Snacks is the perfect option when you want something yummy without preservatives that comes in most packaged snacks.
Our other go-to for snack time is one of my favorites and the only way to get my daughter to eat certain vegetables.
From The Ground Up, cauliflower-based snacks are a delicious alternative to traditional snacks and they are Non-GMO Project Verified, Gluten Free Certified and made with vegan ingredients. We love the pretzels and plan on making this a permanent part of our snack rotation.
An easy way to send them to school is using the Drink in the Box and Snack in the Box. Drink in the Box is the world’s only reusable drink box. It is patented, BPA and Phthalate free, won’t squirt or leak, and helps to hydrate your kids without all the sugar and risk of mold, or impact to the environment of disposable juice boxes.
Snack in the Box is the coolest snack container, featuring two separate chambers that each holds 6 ounces of your favorite dry snack. Using USA-made Tritan, the body lets you fill with 2 different types of snacks, and the Tritan pop-up lids let you easily pour out the snack from each chamber individually.
Any product that makes sending lunch to school easier is a must have for us, we know it is much healthier than the stuff they serve in the cafeteria, plus I know my daughter will actually eat what I send.
When it comes to planning out lunch, VayaLife has us covered with the Tyffyn Lunchbox. The kid version of the same ones seen in celebrity gift bags, BPA-free Tyffns will keep meals hot for up to 6 hours and come with leak-proof interior containers and partitions to keep dishes and ingredients separate until lunch time.
I love being able to send a home cooked meal to school and know that is will be as delicious and hot as when I made it.
Another great product from VayaLife is the BagMat which is the perfect placemat for lunch with a silverware holder inside and the ability to transform into a shoulder bag in seconds!

Another must-have for our Back to School Survival kit is the Rocketbook. This Notebook lasts forever!
Rocketbook provides a classic pen and paper experience that is built for the digital age. My daughter easily takes notes and write papers in school, snaps a quick photo, and then has access online to her work using her favorite cloud services.
When you write using any pen from the Pilot Frixion line, your writing sticks to Everlast pages like regular paper. Use the Rocketbook app to scan your notes into editable documents and automatically save them to your favorite cloud services including Dropbox, Google Drive, and Evernote, to name a few.
Rocketbook is so easy to use and I love being able to pop a notebook in the microwave to clear it out, it’s a fun way to mess with people who have not checked this must have tech item out just yet.
I am always interested in finding ways to stay hydrated as well as keeping my daughter hydrated. It never fails, the school year starts and we start to forget how important staying hydrated it and often go without drinking anything all day. Sometimes it helps to have an incentive to drink and since a hot sunny day is out of the question for now, we wanted something tasty to inspire us to guzzle something down.
Meet GacLife, an emerging superfruit-infused beverage brand that just announced the first line of gac-based wellness products focusing on and skin. GacLife was created in direct response to severe skin irritants and eye troubles we experience daily due to digital burnout and the sun.
The tasty beverages are infused with gac fruit — a rare superfruit indigenous to Southeast Asia packed with age-defying antioxidants, including carotenoids, polyphenols, as well as Vitamins A, C & E.
We also are preparing for the other changes that come with kids getting older, skin problems!
A natural solution is just as refreshing as it is effective. Designed to soothe and restore skin, as well as support a synergistic relationship with anything layered on top of it. You can learn more about the benefits of this product by clicking here.
It seems like the homework load has not only gotten bigger but it is also more tech-driven these days as well. My daughter seems to be online for school assignments more often than not as she gets older but that doesn’t mean distractions are easy to avoid.
It can be a challenge to get kids to focus on their work and avoid being distracted by other noises in the environment.
Thankfully we have BuddyPhones which are the first kids’ headphones with StudyMode, an innovative way to enhance learning by making vocals crisp and clear while studying or watching lessons. StudyMode is available in a variety of BuddyPhones models, including the new PLAY, which comes packed with four distinct SafeAudio listening modes, connects wirelessly with over 14 hours of battery life and provides kid-proof durability to handle the toughest of kids!
Staying focused has never been easier and the sound quality is great while keeping kids ears safe which is why they are in our Back to School Survival Kit.
