This holiday season I have decided to take some time off from blogging and spend time with my family creating new traditions and memories.
This time of year can be so busy and when I am super busy, I tend to not stop and live in the moment. My daughter is now 10 years old and it seems like it was just yesterday when she was asking for a Thomas the Train bed while letting us know how upset she would be if she received a Henry the Train bed instead.
Those are the moments I wish I could live over and over again. It’s great to capture photos and videos of these times but even better when you actually enjoy the moments while they are happening.
So this year I am going to focus on my family and not my email, facebook, twitter, pinterest, and instagram account. I plan on not even looking at my phone except when my cousin Jimmy, my dad, and my Pop Pop Byrd send me a Merry Christmas text message at 6 in the morning, which they do every holiday and of course I will send well wishes back. Although I will quickly shut it off after responding because they only seem to send group text messages and before I know it my phone is buzzing with Christmas wishes from people all over the country that I don’t even know.
I like to spend the holiday’s with my family and usually that includes my mom, husband, and daughter. Whenever more family is able to come out and visit, we enjoy that time but travel isn’t always an option for everyone and we like to stay home for the holiday’s to create family traditions that make lasting cherished memories for years to come.
