DIY Valentines Day Photo Frames

This post is written on behalf of Amazon Studios. This post contains affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

DIY Valentines Day Photo Frames

Valentine’s Day is almost 2 weeks away and the kids have been busy creating beautiful art in school that celebrates the holiday only to bring stacks of their work home for you to display. Instead of plastering them all over every side of your refrigerator, hang those masterpieces with a little style and a fun DIY.

valentines day photo frames

These DIY Valentines Day Photo Frames were inspired by Creative Galaxy’s new Valentine’s Day special. Amazon’s award-winning Creative Galaxy from Out of the Blue Enterprises, with Angela C. Santomero (Blue’s Clues, Super Why!, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) serving as Creator and Executive Producer, and Samantha Freeman as Executive Producer, is a make-along, create-along art adventure series for preschool children.

The series follows Arty, an adorable alien artist, and Epiphany, his inspirational side-kick, on their adventures through the Creative Galaxy as they solve problems through art. To give kids and parents the real-life tools they need to recreate Arty’s experience, a live-action piece at the end of each animated episode takes families through the craft project Arty showcased in the galaxy. In 2015, Creative Galaxy received the Parents’ Choice Gold Award for Television (ages 3-5). Be sure to check out the trailer for Creative Galaxy by clicking here.

In “Heart Day,” Epiphany (Kira Gelineau, Dear Viola) is ready to show her love with a special performance on Groovopolis, but she accidently ruins her costume before the show! She and Arty (Meesha Contreras) fly into the Creative Galaxy for a solution and together they help all his friends along the way learn that everyone has their own special way of saying “I heart you!” Samantha Bee (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee) and Jason Jones (The Daily Show) guest star as Arty’s parents, and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb lends her voice as Melody.

Whenever I get excited about a character in one of my favorite television shows or movies, I love picking up some memorabilia or character related merchandise.  Fans of Arty from Creative Galaxy, would love to have Arty’s Tool Belt!

Arty’s Tool Belt comes with a large assortment of fun art supplies that allow your kids to create their own masterpieces just like Arty does in the Amazon Original Series, Creative Galaxy.

This adjustable belt comes with 1 – 4″ x 5″ Coloring Pad, 1 – 4″ x 5″ Doodle Pad, 2 – 8″ x 10″ Paint with Water Pads, 1 – 4″ x 5″ Sticker Book, 8 Crayons, 1 – Thin Paintbrush, and 1 – Flat Paintbrush

After checking out the series, your little artist may be inspired to create a mountain of art using the supplies from Arty’s Tool Belt. That means a fun DIY is needed, get started creating your Valentine’s Day Photo Frames to display those masterpieces!

What you will need to create Valentine’s Day Photo Frames:

valentines day photo frames

Canvas, Hot Glue Gun, Scissors, tape, ribbon for hanging, Arty’s Tool Belt, and one masterpiece created by your favorite artist.

valentines day photo frames

Cut the hearts out of the card stock and place them around the edge of the canvas using the glue gun to secure it in place.

valentines day photo frames

Add the hearts sporadically to create layers of color while overlapping the inside where the masterpiece will be.

After securing the hearts all around the entire canvas, place your child’s artwork inside and secure with tape. Use a couple of drops of glue to secure the ribbons to the back of the canvas for hanging.

I have a little crafter. She has her own little craft table and she is always working on a project. She also loves Creative Galaxy. I think she'd love to make this frame.

I love the idea of the DIT Valentine's Day photo frame for art created by your child. Creative Galaxy sounds like a great create-along art adventure series for preschool children/ I am going to have to share this with my sister and nieces for their kids. Thanks for sharing this awesome Valentine's day photo frame.

Great job on these. Nothing adds to the love of a hand drawn picture from your kids with a DIY frame on the best of the best.
