Fun Family Photo Ideas

Instead of heading out to an expensive photographer to capture your family photo try these Fun Family Photo Ideas.

Although this is a sponsored post, I did use Shutterfly to capture and display beautiful memories as detailed in this post.

These fun poses for the family will be great to create a gallery wall or send gifts.

My family and I have never been to a professional photographer to take our photos but we have lots of great pictures hung around our home.

We usually set up our camera on a tripod or ask my mom to come over and snap a few pictures for us.

Not only do we create beautiful keepsakes to hang on the wall or give as a gift, we create fun memories in our own home while capturing every laugh and smile throughout the fun family poses.

Taking photos at home helps us to feel more comfortable and more natural since there isn’t a stranger telling us to say cheese!

The most important elements when taking photos at home are the lighting and the background.

Try to find a place in your home that offers natural light but if this is not possible, you could always pick up a cheap flexible desk lamp with a bright daylight bulb fairly cheap for these occasions.

I snapped this photo of my mom and daughter, they are both so beautiful, aren’t they? I had them stand in front of an empty wall lined their faces up side by side and brightened the scene with a daylight bulb.

I repeated this in a photo of myself and my daughter, attempted to do this with my dog as well, and headed outside for a fun camo picture of my husband and daughter.

The idea behind these photos was to create a wall collage with 5×5 photos from Shutterfly, this is what the finished product looks like hanging on my wall.

We had a lot of fun posing for pictures and choosing how we wanted to display them. We took a lot of photos and found many different ways to display them.

My favorite item we received from Shutterfly is now the focal point of a main wall in my living room.

I love being able to choose how I want my photos arranged and adding monograms, quotes, names, or anything I want to personalize my family photos.

This framed canvas offers everything I wanted in a family collage.

Another favorite home decor item I picked up at Shutterfly.com is this table runner personalized with our last name and favorite family photos.

table runner

The glass plate we picked up from Shutterfly looks great on the table runner.

It’s the perfect place to collect all of the little things that seem to accumulate around the house and it’s a great unique way to display your favorite photo.

For that photo, we layed down on the floor and had my mom snap an aerial shot, I like the wood background and it gives us a new angle for a unique photo.

Another great family photo idea is perfect for families of three, my husband and I stood on each side of my daughter and took a picture of us kissing her cheeks.

This one turned out perfect because we couldn’t see my daughter’s reaction until after the photo was taken and I may have encouraged her to smile if I had seen it but I love the way it turned out.
