People are always shocked to hear that I actually enjoy housework. I swear I am not making this up, I really enjoy taking care of my home and family more than anything else in the entire world. I love to cook meals that everyone enjoys, bake treats whenever I can, and clean my house in between all of the other jobs that housework entails.
Whenever I think about what true happiness would look like, even if I had a million dollars it involves me in a kitchen, creating recipes and organizing my favorite housewares.
I really feel like I was meant to be a wife, mom, and homemaker. Nothing else feels quite as right and nothing makes me feel more fulfilled.
As a blogger, I have been given lots of fun opportunities that allow me to share tips and tricks that I have learned along the way. I have been able to share my expertise in parenting, home improvement, housework and sharing all of my favorite recipes, too.
Now as a Wayfair Homemaker, I have been given the opportunity to reach beyond my blogging audience and share my picks for the ultimate kitchen essentials and why I love them so much with Wayfair shoppers all over the world.
Check out the items I picked by clicking on their names or click on the more section after each product to see everything in that category.
When you scroll through the options and see Bloggers Pick you will then be able to click on the Bloggers Pick Badge and see why I love each item.
Get the Right Tools for the Job
I am a firm believer in that old saying that says that you need the right tool for the job and I like to take it a step further by saying that you need to love your housewares if you want to love your housework.
For that, there is Wayfair.
I love going to the site and picking out measuring cups to help with baking, canisters to help me keep my ingredients fresh, and containers to get everything organized.
If you were to take a tour of my home you would see lots of familiar items from Wayfair. Having the right tools for the job and loving the way they look in my home has made me enjoy housework even more.
Take Pride in Your Home
My grandma Ellen taught me that you should always get your housework done when expecting a guest. Take pride in your home and allow it to be presented in the best way possible when you are expecting visitors and even when you are not.
The fastest housework I have ever get done is when an unexpected guest shows up. That mad dash through the house picking up random items and polishing everything is not a pace I can always keep up when tackling housework but it does motivate me to get everything done so I am always prepared for guests.
Print out a Checklist

This may seem pretty obvious but think about all of the times you started to tackle some housework with the intention of it being a quick job and before you know it, you are full-on cleaning the house?
Always set your mood right when cleaning the house, no matter how little the job may be. Time your chores to music if you can, one song can get you through taking out the trash or restocking the toilet paper. Two songs can help you fold some laundry or unload the dishwasher and before you know it, you will be enjoying housework.
I enjoy listening to Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin types when cooking and Metallica or other hard rock music when cleaning.
