These tips to Keep Kids Healthy through the Winter are brought to you through a sponsored partnership with Lifestix although all opinions are my own.
The Winter is quickly approaching and I have already run into a few sick kids at my daughters’ school as well as hear the constant coughs in the distance when grocery shopping or picking up a book at the library.
That means it’s time for us parents to arm our kids with the information they need to stay healthy during the Winter. Just like everything else we tell them though we need to make sure they follow through and nag them constantly for the greater good in order to keep our kids healthy.
I hate seeing my daughter sick, so I plan to fight back and I think you should too. If all parents armed their kids with these tips to stay healthy, there would be a lot fewer germs being spread around this time of year.
Fruit & Veggie Overload- Of course, we want our kids to eat healthy all of the time but if you are anything like me somedays it is just not worth the battle and a bowl of macaroni and cheese becomes an acceptable lunch option on occasion. This time of year it is worth the battle over healthy foods and it is best to really make sure your kids are taking in as many healthy foods as possible. If your kids are as picky as my daughter, it can be hard to find fruits and veggies that they will actually eat. I have found the most success with things like Kale Chips, baked potatoes, carrots with dip, strawberry yogurt, and veggies covered in cheese.
Extra Vitamin C- Increasing your kids’ Vitamin C levels is a great way to prepare their body to fight off colds. This can be tricky if your kids are not a big fan of oranges. If they refuse to down a glass of orange juice or munch on an orange as a snack there are other ways you can increase their Vitamin C. Strawberries, pineapple, and mango are three fruits that pack an impressive amount of Vitamin C and they may be more palatable for picky eaters.
Frequent Hand Washing- This is an obvious way to avoid spreading germs and almost every public restroom you enter has a poster on display stating this fact. That doesn’t mean that kids are getting the message. As parents, it is our lifelong responsibility to repeat ourselves constantly although kids will only hear a small portion of what we actually tell them we need not give up. We have to continue to drill these kinds of things home no matter how many times we have to remind them to Wash their Hands!
Hand Sanitizer- If your kids just are not getting the message about the importance of hand washing, it may be easier to invest in a few bottles of hand sanitizer. If they actually use it and prevent the spread of germs, this purchase would be worth its weight in gold!
E.N.T. Care- E.N.T Care is an oral immune probiotic that dissolves in the mouth to help support ear, nose and throat health. The mouth and throat are the body’s entry point for nutrition, but also for threatening bugs that could compromise your health. That’s when E.N.T. Care comes into play.
Based on the clinically-proven BLIS K12 probiotic strain, E.N.T. Care populates the mouth and oral cavity with healthy, beneficial bacteria that both inhibit and crowd out bad bacteria. With a robust colony of healthy bacteria guarding the gate, bad bugs don’t have a chance.
Not only is E.N.T. Care effective, it tastes great! Available in convenient, easy-to-take-along packs, E.N.T. Care comes in a strawberry flavor so good that your kids will be asking for their daily probiotic.
My daughter actually reminds me when it’s time for her to take her daily dose of E.N.T. Care. She loves the flavor and fully understands the benefits of getting her body prepared for this upcoming cold and flu season.
