When preparing my Mother’s Day Gift Guide, trying to sift through the hundreds of gift ideas you could get for mom this Mother’s Day, I came across one gift idea that was so fabulous, I had to do a full feature to share everything I love about it. Keep in mind that although I did receive the product in exchange for my review, all opinions are my own.
Picked from Lamo’s Classic Collection, The Taylor was my first choice because of the appearance and especially for their performance on not so desirable terrain. Ever since moving to Iowa about 6 years ago, the weather has been what the locals refer to as, extreme. When it rains, it pours, when it snows it never stops and when March rolls around, we are still pretty much covered in ice, full of hope for every last bit to melt, any day now.
We are longing for the days filled with birds chirping, gardening, frisbee golf, and hiking. We have a fun trip to Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota planned that has helped us through the really bad weather. Thinking about all of the sights that await us has made the long Winter a little easier to get through. I am super excited to put my new boots to the test when we hit the trails and enjoy the warmer weather. I am already impressed by their ability to handle the ice-covered frozen tundra we have been experiencing this Winter in Iowa.
I am especially impressed by their ability to be rugged at the same time as comfortable and stylish. The Taylor is perfect for hiking, I feel confident heading out into whatever life throws at me when wearing them. They fit perfectly. feel like they can take me anywhere, and keep my feet feeling great the whole time.
Getting used to the weather in Iowa just takes some time, I knew what I was getting into. I am all about letting things run their natural course, I have learned a thing or two about patience, after all, it has taken me six years to find a pair of boots that I loved.
My favorite part is the fluffy inside, it keeps my feet warm without sweating, I don’t even know how that’s possible but leftie and rightie are two reliable witnesses that will testify to that point.
The faux fur upper part and inside of the boot feels as soft as soft as my dog and thanks to the color scheme of the cow suede, they even kinda look like her.
I am excited that despite this terribly long Winter we are experiencing, I can wear my furry boots and take my furry dog outside to play.
As long as they don’t end up in my daughters closet. She is growing so fast and now is a couple of inches taller than me, sharing the same shoe size, which means sharing shoes too. Don’t get me wrong, although difficult at times, I really am enjoying this stage of her life. It’s exciting to live these days as a mom of a teenager which are filled with things like watching her wear her first pair of semi-high heels, sharing makeup tips although I have very few to offer, and talking about adult topics like psychology.
I have always been interested in human behavior and the mind, how it works, why people do what they do, and how it can predict what they may do in the future. It turns out that same kind of thing interests my daughter, she questions everything as I do and we enjoy reading up on psychology together. At this point she is thinking about going into a psychology-related field but things may change as she is just finishing up middle school, she has plenty of time to figure it out still.
Since this is her last Summer before High School, I am even more excited than usual to spend it with her, knowing there are very few Summers as a family left. It will not be long before she is off living her own life, hopefully still spending time with her mom aka lifelong bestie, as well as buying her own boots.
If she still needs that motherly advice on which ones to buy, I would highly recommend The Taylor from Lamo. Hopefully, we will put plenty of miles on them this Summer, enjoying the nice weather that has to get here eventually, right?
