Spending quality family time is very important to me and my family. I think all families would benefit from designating one night a week as family night and disconnect from the world while reconnecting with each other.
If you have plans to spend time with your family, it is important to turn off all cell phones, televisions, computers and disconnect from the outside world. Otherwise, everyone is distracted and it’s impossible to have quality family time.
My daughter’s schoolwork keeps her pretty busy even when school is out, she is constantly reading and working on different projects.
My husband works a lot and due to the crazy hours at his work he is so exhausted at the end of the day that it is almost impossible to spend quality time together during the week.
I blog all day, which a couple of years ago would have sounded crazy to me but it really does take a lot of time to run a website. The writing part is fun but all of the promotion and other work that is involved is very time consuming.
On Friday nights, we spend our family time unwinding from the week and playing a board game together. We rotate which games we play by who got to pick the week before, I think this weekend is going to be Star Wars Monopoly.
One thing that doesn’t change is the snacks we eat during our family time.
I think the best snack to eat while playing board games is popcorn. It’s not too messy and you can share a big bowl with the whole family while laying on the floor playing games.
Our favorite kind is JOLLY TIME Pop Corn and we don’t usually make it in the traditional way either. I use brown paper lunch bags and add about 2 teaspoons of JOLLY TIME Pop Corn kernels and put it in the microwave for about 1 minute and 45 seconds.
It comes out perfect every time and we are able to control how much we make without having to worry about leftovers.
I love adding fresh butter and little bit of salt on top. If you are using the paper bag method be sure to add the toppings after putting the popcorn into a bowl, otherwise it gets kinda messy.
JOLLY TIME Pop Corn knows how important spending quality Family Time is and that’s why they are asking us to Unplug. Pop. Connect.
