What you’ll need:

5 lb. Ham (this recipe easily doubles if you are making a larger ham)

1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

3 and a 1/3 cups water

1 teaspoon maple extract

Preheat Oven to 350  Degrees. Rinse the ham under cold water and then be sure to dry it completely. Grab your roasting pan and put ham inside. Pour 3 cups of water in the bottom of the pan.

On the stove top in a small sauce pan, add 1/3 cup of water and bring to a boil. Stir in brown and white sugars. Add Maple Extract and stir until completely combined.

Coat the entire ham with syrup mixture and let excess pour into bottom of roasting pan.

Cover top of Ham with Aluminum Foil, loosely.

Bake for 1 hour and then remove the Aluminum Foil. Cover Ham in juices from bottom of pan and return to oven with no cover.

Bake for another hour to an hour and a half. The rule of thumb when cooking a ham is usually 20 minutes per pound. If you have a precooked ham but wanted to add the flavoring mix above cook for only 10 minutes per pound. Half way through be sure to remove the covering to help the edges brown and crisp to perfection.

Roasted Ham Recipe

I am the only one in my house that likes ham, so when I make this recipe I use a smaller ham and slice it into sandwich sized slices and enjoy it throughout the week. It is great with eggs and cheese on an english muffin for breakfast too!
