Frequently Asked Questions

Why do bananas turn brown in banana cream pie?

When bananas are exposed to air, they turn brown quickly. When following SCD, bananas must be ripe, so they will likely have brown spots before making this banana cream pie recipe.

Does lemon juice keep bananas from turning brown?

Just like with apples, adding a little lemon juice to banana slices can prevent the browning. The citric acid in the lemon juice acts as a natural antioxidant, slowing down the oxidation process that causes fruits to turn brown.

How many days is a banana cream pie good for in the fridge?

This paleo banana cream pie is best when eaten within 3-4 days when stored in the refrigerator. The refrigeration helps maintain the pie’s texture and flavor, ensuring a delightful experience with every bite.

To savor the pie at its peak, consume it within the recommended period. If you find yourself with leftovers, consider freezing individual slices for an extended shelf life while preserving the delectable essence of this guilt-free dessert.

Is one banana a day too much sugar?

No, one banana a day is not too much sugar for most people. While a medium-sized banana contains about 14 grams of sugar, it also offers essential nutrients like potassium and fiber. Moderation is key, and bananas can be a healthy part of a balanced diet.

Turned out petty well! Great flavour but needs to be eaten within a couple days or the bananas get a brown and unappetizing.
