Work Out While Watching TV

I start my day out with the intentions of working out and making my physical health a top priority in my schedule. By the afternoon I start to feel tired from working all day and don’t feel like I have the energy needed to take on that new workout routine just yet. So I end up spending an hour on the couch watching television and the time flies by before I can get a workout in.

I am a big fan of multi-tasking and getting a lot of things done each day in the most time efficient way possible. I decided if I was going to fit a work out into my daily routine I needed to incorporate my multi-tasking skills to keep me motivated. During my one hour television time I have figured out a way to Work Out While Watching TV.

Yoga is a great exercise to do while watching TV. This low impact stretching allows you to keep your face pointed in the direction of your television. Unlike kickboxing and many other high impact workouts, you won’t be bouncing up and down while trying to catch your breath. How are you going to follow your program on television while bobbing up and down trying to catch your breath? Keeping it simple is important for longevity of this workout plan. You need to be able to stick to it and actually get your TV time in too!

This isn’t just for the kids anymore, it’s actually a great workout. I was skeptical at first and didn’t think that I could hula hoop but I purchased a weighted hula hoop that anybody can work. It’s not only fun but you can burn tons of calories while building up your core muscles and burn up to 100 calories in just ten minutes.

If you just aren’t feeling motivated enough to get off the couch you can still get a workout in.  While seated there are many different ways to use weights to workout your arm muscles. Alternate between forward and backward motions and left and right arms.

If you can catch up on all of your favorite shows while getting in shape there is no excuse good enough to keep you from living the healthy life you want to live. The only thing that stands in between you and your fitness goals is a good show to watch because you really can workout while watching TV.
