When I first had my daughter about fourteen years ago, I felt the pressure to lose the baby weight but had a really hard time prioritizing things that seemed to only benefit me. I always wanted to be of service to my family which meant that at the time, working out was at the bottom of my list and I just never made time for it.
It was still on my mind, I still wanted to get back into shape, I thought about it often, I just didn’t act on it. While cleaning my house or feeding my daughter I would often think about what it would be like to actually get up and get moving but those thoughts never came to fruition, they stayed daydreams for years until I found the secret to getting a workout in every day.
I could go on all day and keep you waiting to find out what I found out but I want to share the secret, I just feel like it doesn’t resonate, no matter how I tell you what the secret is, the words just never seem to amount to anything. It seems that no matter how many ways I have tried to tell this to many different people, how many times I have said it out loud, how many times I try to create a new way to say what the secret to getting a workout in every day is, it always seems so simple and yet nobody believes it, that is until they finally do .
I have heard people tell me this so many times, so many people, I have read it in books, seen it on television, read it on social media, it never really sunk in until I tried it. I have learned from this experiment that motivation comes and goes, you won’t always feel motivated to get that workout done. In fact, there are times when you will actually try to talk yourself out of working out, you will be very convincing too so you need to be driven, you need to get into a mindset that will not let you waiver.
The secret to getting a workout in every day is, just doing it. Wake up one hour earlier than you normally do and get that workout in. You won’t always feel your best, give it your all, or even see results but if you work the habit muscle hard enough, even exercising every day becomes a part of your life and you will get a workout every day.
It really is that simple. Just wake up an hour earlier than you normally do, go for a run, do a workout program, dance, lift weights, whatever it is that you want to do, just make it a habit. When my alarm goes off at 5 am the first thought I have upon waking up is to hit the snooze button and go right back to sleep. Giving in to that urge is what has kept me from working out my entire life. I didn’t have the mindset needed to fight the urge to give up when things got hard.
Of course, you aren’t going to want to get out of a warm and comfy bed early in the morning to do hard work, I don’t want to either. Those mornings that I wake up and immediately hit the snooze button are usually the days that I need the workout most. I don’t give in to the temptation to give up, I know that I will only feel good while in bed but for the rest of the day, I will regret not working out. I always feel better after a workout no matter how bad I felt before it. Even on the days that I physically can not give it my all, I still get out of bed and go through the motions. Whether that is hopping onto my elliptical, getting it done on the Total Gym, or running a few miles, I still put in the work.
This is truly the only way to get a workout in every single day, no matter what life throws at you, just get up and do it. Now that you know the secret to getting a workout in every day, share it on your favorite social media to help others get into the right mindset to achieve their goals.
