This Christmas Craft is made using wrapping paper scraps and the leftover tube creating a set of DIY Poinsettia Napkin Rings.
Up-cycling things that would have ended up in the garbage otherwise is something that I just love to do. Sure it’s great for the environment and teaches our kids how to conserve the Earths natural resources but the best part is that these homemade napkin rings are free to make!
I love free decor because every year there is a new popular trend or theme that cost a fortune to obtain in your own home. I don’t like to brave the crowds this time of year and I just don’t want to spend a fortune decking the halls of my home by emptying my accounts at the bank.
So I made these DIY Poinsettia Napkin Rings to make sure that my dinner table looks as pretty as possible this holiday season, for both Christmas and New Years.
You can make your own holiday themed napkin rings from a wrapping paper tube, paper towel tube, or if you are wanting to spread a little holiday germ around, a toilet paper roll.
All you have to do is cut about an inch to an inch and a half size ring out of the end, making sure you don’t apply too much pressure on top, ruining the shape.
Pick out your favorite wrapping paper, I use scraps from weirdly shaped presents that I have saved hoping to find a new use for.
Cut a piece of wrapping paper long enough to fit around the in and outside of the tube cut off then wrap it around, folding and creasing to keep in place.
Use a knife to place a small hole in the center of the ring, big enough to fit the stem of a poinsettia inside.
Place a folded or rolled napkin inside and pull out through the other end.
Decorate your table with a set of these DIY Poinsettia Napkin Rings for the holidays, and make a set to give as a gift.
