This Cheesesteak Skillet is the perfect Easy Low Carb Dinner because it can be made in less than 15 minutes. Since this recipe uses simple ingredients with little preparation required, eating healthy has never been easier. On those busy days when I just don’t have time to prep the standard low carb or keto meal, I usually end up eating something I regret or something that doesn’t satisfy my family. That is no longer a problem now that I have this easy low-carb dinner cheesesteak skillet in the rotation.

Quick Tips for a Quick Low Carb Meal

I have found that using a skillet with a copper bottom helps to cook my foods more evenly and sometimes, faster than traditional skillets. This helps me to save time on cooking but also saves time on cleanup. No need to get a brillo out and scrape burned food off of the bottom of the pan when everything cooks evenly. Another way to save time when making this recipe is to buy pre-diced peppers and onions in the freezer aisle. This step only takes a couple of minutes to prepare but if you are really pressed for time, buying frozen vegetables will make this quick low-carb meal even faster. Now you can spend more time with your family while still enjoying a healthy low-carb meal. Less time working and more time enjoying the finer things in life, like this delicious quick dinner option.

Low Carb Side Dish Options for the Cheesesteak Skillet

When serving my family this Easy Low Carb Dinner Cheesesteak Skillet I like to pair it with a salad. Iceberg lettuce, tomato, olives, and cheese is my favorite combo. I top this salad with my favorite homemade easy vinaigrette dressing. Another delicious side dish idea that would pair well with this recipe is steamed broccoli covered in butter. Yum! This dinner would also taste great served on a bed of steamed cauliflower rice.

How to Make this Cheesesteak Skillet

This easy low-carb dinner is so simple to throw together, with very minimal prep-work. I also love how versatile it is. Try adding some hot peppers or a dash of your favorite hot sauce to spice it up. For another meal idea that is just as quick to throw together, try a different variety of meat. You could try swapping out the beef for chicken to make a chicken cheesesteak that the whole family will love.

To make this recipe, start by drizzling olive oil in the bottom of a skillet. Turn on medium to high heat to warm the skillet while chopping the veggies.

The next step is to add the veggies to the skillet and cook on high heat for about 5-6 minutes, or until softened.

Then, add in the beef, allow to cook for about 2 minutes before adding in the cream cheese and seasonings.

Mix everything together to ensure everything is evenly coated with the seasoning and cream cheese.

Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes before adding the mozzarella to the top of the skillet. Cook until cheese has melted, this should take about 2 minutes on high heat. That’s it!
