This BBQ Ribs Recipe is an all natural meal that your entire family will enjoy. It’s great for those following the SCD Diet which does not allow for most prepackaged foods and that includes condiments. So when I get a craving for basically anything, I have to create it myself.
Recently I have been smelling a lot of BBQ’s in my neighborhood and I couldn’t wait any longer to create a BBQ Ribs Recipe!

Since this BBQ Ribs Recipe is made in the crock pot it not only saves you from washing a ton of pots and pans but it saves so much time at the end of the day when you just want to relax.
I would cook everything in the crock pot if it was possible, especially during the Summer, the oven is just too much when it’s over 100 degrees outside.
Even if you don’t follow the SCD Diet, I know you will love this BBQ Ribs Recipe because it doesn’t just taste great, it is all homemade, so you know exactly what is going into your food.
What you will need:
1 lb Pork Baby Back Ribs
4 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
1 1/2 Cups of Honey
12 ounces of Tomato Paste
2 Tablespoons of Garlic Powder
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Teaspoon of Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
1/2 Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

Place Ribs in Crock Pot on High temperature, splitting rack in half if necessary to fit into your crock pot.
Mix Honey and Tomato Paste in a medium bowl until well combined.
Add the Apple Cider Vinegar, Garlic, Salt, Pepper, Paprika, and Cayenne Pepper.

Combine all ingredients in the bowl and then add the mixture to the Crock Pot ensuring good coverage of the ribs.
Place the lid on top and let cook on high for about 6 hours or until you can’t wait any longer because the smell is just too good!

That's way too much honey. SCD likes to go crazy with honey.

I disagree. I think this recipe is the definition of perfection although I appreciate you stopping by to let me know your thoughts. Since everyone's pallet is different, I would recommend always trying a smaller amount than what is called for. That way you can make adjustments where needed to suit your own taste.

I had to be on the SCD diet for my ulcerative colitis and made this recipe constantly. Since then, I’ve had my colon removed and am no longer on the SCD diet, but this is still my go-to rib recipe.

Thank you for letting me know Dani, I love when a recipe proves to be a success for others. I am sorry to hear about your health issues but they mirror my own, I also have had my colon removed due to Ulcerative Colitis despite the diet, it seems to be a common story I am hearing lately. If you wouldn't mind sharing I would love to hear more about your journey, were you 100% compliant with the diet? I am always curious about how successful the diet has been for others and if anyone else slipped from time to time as I found myself doing. Have you been an ostomate long and are you planning for a reversal? Thanks again for stopping by.

Thanks for stopping by April! I have never tried to put frozen ribs in the crock pot. I have made chicken that was part frozen in the crock pot and it only altered the recipe by needing a little longer to cook. I am interested to know how it works out because I have forgot to take dinner out to thaw more times than I can count, so please let me know how it works out for you!
