I have recently learned that radishes can easily fit into the ketogenic diet and they are a great alternative to potatoes.
After researching the nutritional information and finding out the many health benefits of cooked radishes, I learned that this low-carb veggie is the perfect side dish for many diets.
Radishes contain bioactive compounds and are a good source of vitamin c, calcium, and vitamin b. They are great for weight loss as well as warding off illnesses such as heart disease.
A cup of radishes makes a great keto side dish and just one medium radish baked with sour cream can satisfy your baked potato cravings.
The starchy texture makes a great substitute which is why they are commonly referred to as keto potatoes.
How Many Grams of Net Carbs Are in Radishes?
1 sliced cup serving of radishes contains 3.9 grams of total carbs and 1.9 grams of fiber. After taking the dietary fiber into consideration, I figured out that there are 2.1 grams of net carbs in one cup of sliced radishes.
Are All Varieties of Radishes Keto?
This is a general calculation as there are many varieties of radishes, some with a spicy taste and some that have a much milder flavor which means the possibilities for radish recipes are endless.
Some of the most popular varieties are daikon radish, watermelon radishes, and my favorite little red beauties.

A lot of people enjoy radishes in salads and even add radishes to potato salad. For those of us who aren’t big fans of the radish taste, there are many ways to prepare bunches of radishes without a whole lot of effort.
Spread a single layer of red radishes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle some olive oil or avocado oil on top.
Season keto radishes with your favorite fresh herbs and spices by tossing in a large bowl with garlic powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Add a bold flavor to a medium-sized radish by adding lemon juice. To create loaded radishes that rival most loaded potatoes, add parmesan cheese or cheddar cheese along with bacon, salt, garlic powder, and green onions.
